Last Saturday, Claudia Cruz and Rebeca Rodriguez conducted a Know-Your-Rights workshop at the 3rd Migrant Forum in Huimilpan, Hidalgo. Workers, their family members, local authorities and media attended the workshop. The audience was curious to learn more about migrant workers’ rights, filing taxes and policy changes — Claudia and Rebeca were excited to have such a lively discussion!
Earlier this month, Claudia and Ben Botts travelled to Zimapan and Tasquillo in the state of Queretaro to conduct trainings in these important migrant-sending communities. Comite member Baldemar Martinez joined them to speak about workers’ rights and strategies to prevent recruitment fraud on a local radio station.
That’s a wrap on 2018 outreach! This year, the CDM team led 32 workshops to equip 3,564 individuals with crucial information about rights during recruitment and at their U.S. workplaces. Our outreach efforts are key to uphold migrant workers’ rights all along their journey.
