The start of Fall season is less than one week away — and so is the last chance to save crucial worker protections under the H-2A program.

This summer, the Department of Labor published several proposed regulations that threaten to regress key protections for H-2A agricultural migrant workers. With these new rules, migrant workers would essentially be paying to work by absorbing hundreds of dollars in travel expenses. The proposed changes to the program would also lower workers’ wages in several states and leave housing conditions to the goodwill of employers.

But together, we can stop this. For the last eight weeks, our dynamic team has been mobilizing to ensure the voices and perspectives of workers are reflected in the new rules. From reaching workers in person and via Contratados.org to mobilizing allies, CDM is bringing communities together to rally their support for migrant workers’ rights. The deadline to submit public comments on proposed regulations is quickly approaching. As of today, dozens of migrant workers have already submitted comments through Contratados.org — we need you. From now until September 24th, 2019, we encourage you to join us in protecting workers rights’ for the more than 240,000 H-2A agricultural workers found throughout our communities.

Start the fall season by advancing migrant justice. Remind officials that workers’ rights must be at the center of policies that directly affect workers. Submit your comment today!
