More Ways to Support CDM

Donor Advised Funds (DAFs)

Donor-advised funds (DAFs) are a tax-efficient way to manage your charitable gifts. Donors with a DAF make a charitable contribution to the fund, receive an immediate tax deduction, and then recommend grants from the fund on their own timeline.

Recommend a grant to CDM through your DAF manager.

RMD/QCD from IRA

If you are 70½ years or older, you can make a qualified charitable distribution (QCD) from your IRA. You can donate up to $108,000 per year directly to eligible charities. Not only will your gift fuel CDM’s fight for justice with migrant workers, but by making a QCD directly to CDM, the amount will not count as taxable income.

If you’re 73 or older and required to take a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD), a gift to CDM via your IRA can help you meet your RMD without those funds counting as taxable income for you.

Benefits:

  • No income taxes on the gift. When you make a gift directly from your IRA, it doesn’t add to your taxable income, so you benefit even if you don’t itemize your deductions.
  • Since the gift is not part of your income, it can reduce your annual income level, may lower your Medicare premiums, and may decrease the amount of Social Security subject to tax.

Cien Cenas

Our annual cenas (dinners) hosted by supporters mark the anniversary of CDM’s founding and honor migrant workers’ sacrifices around Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead) and the fall harvest. Find out how to participate.

Employer Donation Matching

Make your gift go twice as far! Thousands of US employers match their employees’ donations. Ask for your employer’s matching gift policy or contact CDM at info@cdmigrante.org and we’ll help you find out.
