George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Tony McDade, and Ahmaud Arbery — these are four names of countless Black people killed over the course of 400 years of systemic racism that fosters the violation of human rights. Centro de los Derechos del Migrante, Inc. stands in solidarity with Black communities across the country demanding justice for them and the many other Black lives lost to police brutality.

As an organization that advocates for migrant worker rights, we understand that our work is deeply connected. The white supremacist systems and institutions that exploit migrant workers cause violence against Black communities. For years, police and immigration enforcement have worked together to terrorize our communities. We believe in the power of civil society and of protest to hold systems of oppression accountable.

The liberation of all people requires racial justice. We stand firmly with Black activists and Black leaders who are fighting to dismantle systemic racism, and are reimagining and creating an equitable future.

As an organization, we join our allies in the immigrant justice movement in making concrete commitments in support of Black liberation and racial justice.
