For almost seven years, Elizabeth Mauldin energized and inspired our organization, allies and migrant workers with her brilliance, poise, and unshakable commitment to social justice in her service as our Policy Director. Elizabeth passed away earlier this year, after a six-month battle with cancer. We are so grateful to have learned from her and her leadership.

We want to make sure Elizabeth’s legacy lives on — and we need your help. In September, on what would have been Elizabeth’s 39th birthday, we announced a new position in her name: the Elizabeth Mauldin Memorial Advocate for Migrant Women (EMMA). Starting in the fall of 2020, the EMMA will work across CDM’s outreach, legal and policy departments to ensure that the voices and experiences of migrant worker women are reflected in the policies that impact them.

Today, Giving Tuesday, is for building a just and equitable future with migrant women in honor of Elizabeth and her legacy. All donations to CDM will go towards funding the EMMA, empowering migrant worker women and launching the careers of young leaders whose years with CDM will make an incalculable impact in the pursuit for justice. This year, your donation will go twice as far thanks to generous CDM board members who will be matching funds up to $3,000.

Help us make sure Lizzie’s legacy continues to improve conditions for workers across borders and that her memory inspires future generations of advocates. Together, we can ensure that we can fulfill the vision of a tireless fighter whose spirit and light guide us every day.
