Mari Perales has bravely led by example in challenging the Trump Administration’s rescision of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) policy.

Through social media, virtually, or in person, you followed her and the CDM Baltimore team as we brought together over one-hundred-fifty #HomeisHere marchers, allies, and community members in Baltimore. You supported her and migrant allies outside of Baltimore’s City Hall. Last but not least, you joined us online and in person in cheering her on outside of the Supreme Court.

You can continue showing Mari and the CDM team your support.

The Baltimore Sun has announced the Finalists for Marylander of the Year 2019. The list holds an incredible and selective set of nominees representing the state of Maryland — from Rep. Elijah Cummings and football star, Lamar Jackson, to Maryland House of Delegates Speaker Adrienne Jones and former chancellor of the University System of Maryland, William E. “Brit” Kirwan. The list also has another important name: that of our own courageous Communications Coordinator, Mari Perales.

This is a huge recognition, and one you can be a part of! From now until Dec. 29th, you can vote for Mari as the Marylander of the Year. Show your support by voting here and share with others as well!

We are so proud of Mari and all her work to enact justice for migrant communities. Congratulations, Mari!
