We are excited to announce that CDM has been named the inaugural recipient of the Law & Social Policy Legacy Award from Economic Opportunity Funders (EOF)!
Established in 2020 to increase awareness of organizations working to advance law and social policy for low-wage workers’ rights, this award recognizes our “strong record of achieving justice for thousands of migrant workers who work in U.S. industries with histories of exploitation.”
That strong record is 15 years of work alongside migrant workers to remove the border as a barrier to justice through organizing, groundbreaking advocacy, innovative legal strategies and technology.
EOF Co-Director Cema Siegel says CDM’s “innovative and impactful transnational model is exactly the type of work we hope to uplift with this award.”
Established in 1992, EOF (formerly known as GIST) is an informal network of more than 400 funders working to advance economic equity and opportunity in the U.S. The Law & Social Policy Legacy Award is made with support from the Public Welfare Foundation annually until 2030 as part of its legacy investment in advancing workers’ rights.
I’ll be joining EOF for a webinar on Thursday, April 29 at 1 p.m. ET. We hope you’ll register and watch to hear more about the Award and EOF’s initiatives.
Thank you to the EOF and Public Welfare Foundation for this recognition and for standing with migrant workers as we continue to advance justice across borders.
The Law & Social Policy Award, with its emphasis on significance, collaborative approach and systemic impact, aligns perfectly with our vision for worker-centered advocacy and organizing. We’re eager to meet the future winners and nominees who share in this vision for social justice.
